I'm not surprised. The summer before the admission of Slovenia to the EU I spent some time on a farm and one afternoon the owner was even more merry than otherwise. The selfmade liquor appeared on the table and he explained the reason of his good temper. Two representatives of the EU had visited him with a questionnaire to help him decide what would the amount of money he would get from the EU. According to the EU standard he was in terrible need, because his income was lower than a cetain standard. What they forgot was that his expenses were also far below that same standard. So his balance would be very positive. Food? All from his own farm. Fuel for heating? Cut by Albanian refugees from his own wood. Etc, etc. <br />By all opjectie standards, this man was well to do. But by EU standards he was eligible for a fat pouch of Euro's every year. He laughed and laughed.
